WFH

Another Monday in Isolation! Another Monday to set the tone for the new week.

As the days continue to blur together, I’ve had to stay on top of my day to day agendas. My day yesterday definitely helped me dedicate the day to one particular goal: unplug & prep for the coming week.

So, today being Monday, I took care of my morning routine, did the dishes, and set up a cozy home “office” on my couch. I queued up my favorite podcast, poured myself a hot cup of coffee, and got ready to get shit done today.

I’m not usually the greatest at this, but creating a small, yet productive routine has been helping me so much in coping with the Stay Home Order. As an established introvert, staying home isn’t anything new, but working from home is. Being a person who functions with a mood disorder and anxious tendencies, I can’t recommend small, effective routine practices enough. I, like most, am not used to monitoring my mental health from indoors; moving around has always been my greatest weapon when combatting my mental pits. But, if you don’t know where to start, start by starting.

For example, my normal work routine starts when I wake up at 7:30AM, get ready, get to the salon by 9:45AM, from there, go to nannying from 3:00-6:00PM and then usually back to the salon until my last client ends around 9:00PM.

How the hell does one go from, basically, a 12-hour work day, constantly on the move doing hands-on work, to just SeTtiNg Up a CoMFy HomE OfFiCE? This is how I did it, and you can too:

  • Grab comfy blankets

  • Cup o’ favorite homemade coffee

  • iPad/laptop

  • healphones

  • Notepad

  • Agenda

  • Make it cute

Even if you don’t end up utilizing the adorable home office you’ve made, per my recommendation, at least you got up and assembled something; productivity!

Setting the tone on Sunday/Monday is crucial in maintaining a sense of stability and sanity. Or at least I know it is for me.

♡ Wishing continued safety and wellness to all ♡
